Richey Town Council Adopts Resolution for Building and Construction Permits

With summer projects in full swing, we have received many requests for building permits and just as many questions about the process for getting a building permit and why a permit is needed.

At its June 13, 2023, meeting, the Richey Town Council adopted Resolution #392, "Application for Property Boundary Review Related to Building and Construction Permit," to clarify why the Town requires a permit and how to obtain a permit. Attached to the Resolution is the actual permit form--which is very similar to the one used by the Town in the past--and some other helpful information.

The purpose of the permit is simply to ensure that a proposed project will not encroach on Town of Richey property or rights-of-way, or on anyone else’s property, and that any use of Town property or rights-of-way for the placement, storage, or staging of construction waste/debris, materials, or equipment for any length of time is approved beforehand by the Richey Town Council.
