Intersection at 2nd Street NW and Wheat Ave. West is Closed

The intersection at 2nd Street NW and Wheat Ave. West, and portions of those roads extending out from that intersection, are closed to accommodate a house move. Please do not attempt to drive around the barricades. The roads will re-open this evening and then will be closed again Thursday morning and into the evening. Thank you for your cooperation, and we will let you know when the roads are open again.
Town Council Approves FY 2023-2024 Budget

On August 22, 2023, the Richey Town Council approved the Town of Richey's final budget, appropriations, and mill levy for fiscal year 2023-2024.

The Town of Richey's Annual Drinking Water Quality Report for 2022 is available at the link below. It is also posted at the Post Office, Stockman Bank, Big Sky Hardware, and the Senior Citizens Center, and copies are available upon request from the Town Office.
UPDATE: The water on First Street West is back on.

The water will be turned off on First Street West starting immediately for an emergency curb stop repair. We will notify you when the water is back on.
Uncollected Garbage Today

We are aware that some of the garbage totes on the southwest side of town were not dumped today. A metal dumpster has been put out by the Town shop to dispose of your garbage in the meantime. G & G has been contacted. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Richey Town Council Adopts Resolutions for Enforcing Ordinances and for Re-establishing Town Judge

Earlier this month, the Richey Town Council adopted resolutions (see links below) to formalize a policy for enforcing local ordinances and to re-establish the Town's judge. These resolutions are part of an overall effort to ensure that the Town’s ordinances are applied consistently and fairly through mutual cooperation between the residents and the Town—and on an informal basis—whenever possible.

Phase 1 of the Water Main Replacement Project is Complete!

With the exception of a few minor follow-up items that will be addressed in the next few weeks, Phase 1 of the Town's water main replacement project is complete! Reaching this milestone was a multiyear process that could not have been accomplished without the efforts of the previous and current Mayor, Clerk, Public Works Director, and Councilmembers; COP Construction; Wharton Asphalt; and Great West Engineering. Most importantly, we thank the residents and businesses of Richey--particularly those who were directly affected by the Phase 1 work--for their patience, understanding, and adaptability during these past two months and for helping to maintain safe construction areas for the workers and for our citizens.

Town of Richey Awarded $500,000 Grant for Additional Water Main Replacement

The Town of Richey has been approved for a Montana Coal Endowment Program grant award in the amount of $500,000 to replace water mains. This funding will be applied to "Phase 2" of the water main replacement project. This grant, in addition to the Community Development Block Grant of $600,000 received earlier this year, brings the Town's Phase 2 funding to $1.1 million!
